Except for the completion of items on the punch list, the
COMTEX plant is complete. Most of the energy over the past
two weeks has been devoted to the fine tuning of the infra-structure
systems including the boilers, steam regulators, water heating,
and reclamation system.
The pictures below set out the state of COMTEX as at February
29, 2004.
Equipment

The fourth and final ironer system is now being installed
and the final adjustments are currently being made to the
two COMTEX blanket feeders and folders. During the month of
March, several safety devices, cages and floor lines have
been completed as well as the hanging of various COMTEX employee
banners.
Budgeting & Finance

Budgeting and finance systems continue to progress and at
the present time historic data covering 2002 and 2003 has
been entered and balanced in order to have data from the inception
of COMTEX. Accounts payable came in house February 1, 2004,
and the General Ledger is anticipated to be in house at the
end of March.
Staffing

Staffing continues to ramp up to take on the start-up of Customers.
At the present time, COMTEX employees 11 managers and supervisors,
and 54 production staff. COMTEX staff receive approximately
four (4) hours of orientation on payroll, policies, systems,
and equipment and then proceed to the production floor to
finish out their day with on-the-job training.
Health Facility Start-Up Date

The following facilities are now receiving service from COMTEX:
- Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital,
- Mount Carmel East,
- Mount Carmel West,
- Doctor’s Hospital West,
- Victorian Village Health Center,
- and 25 Ancillary sites affiliated with Mount Carmel Hospital.
The following additional sites are preparing to come to COMTEX:
- Riverside Methodist Hospital – March 21, 2004,
- Marion General Hospital, Morrow County Hospital, Hardin
Memorial Hospital, and Galion Community Hospital –
March 28, 2004,
- And approximately 55 Ancillary sites affiliated with
OhioHealth – March 21, 2004.
Please raise these dates within your facility to ensure that
everyone is prepared for a seamless start-up of Laundry Services
from COMTEX.
COMTEX TEAM GROWS

Myles Noel, COO of COMTEX is pleased to announce the recruitment
of Jason Gloyd to the position of Manager of Linen, Distribution
& Customer Services for COMTEX effective March 17, 2004.
Jason is a Registered Nurse with experience in many facets
of nursing including the ER, ICU and CCU. In addition he brings
varied Customer Service experience from the private sector.
In his new position with COMTEX, Jason will manage a budget
for textiles, transportation, and distribution as his portfolio
will include Linen Acquisition and Replacement, and trucking
to ancillary sites and hospitals.
The COMTEX team is excited to have Jason join their ranks,
and to be involved in the start-up and commissioning of this
new venture.
